Your brain can help you

What is it?

Brainspotting. It sounds like an interesting concept doesn’t it? A powerful focused release based on where you look. It almost seems too good to be true, but the human mind and body want to be happy and healthy so it stands to reason it would build in ways to achieve this goal. ‘A “Brainspot” is the eye position which is related to the energetic/emotional activation of a traumatic/emotionally charged issue within the brain, most likely in the amygdala, the hippocampus, or the orbitofrontal cortex of the limbic system.’ ( David Grand wrote “The Revolutionary New Therapy for Rapid and Effective change,” he wrote the book because he believed this method could and would help people reach their true selves and in turn their full potential.

How it can help

“I have actually come to believe that the baseline of creativity enhancement is healing. In other words, “there is no healing without creativity, and there is no creativity without healing.” (David Grand, Brainspotting: The Revolutionary New Therapy for Rapid and Effective Change) pg 118

The technique helps you move through emotional and physical trauma, regardless if a person or car accident inflicted it. It doesn’t change who you are as a person or the lessons learned. What it does, most importantly is allow the user to be whole again. There are numerous issues that Brainspotting can help you work through. From something as seemingly simple as improving your creative flow to overcoming stuttering. Anxiety has far-reaching effects on peoples’ lives. Manifesting in different ways anxiety can hinder people in physical and emotional ways. Relieving the source of the anxiety allows you to move forward and to be the person you always wanted to be.

“Trauma doesn’t grant access to experience; it blocks experience with reflexive barriers of dissociation.” (David Grand Brainspotting: The Revolutionary New Therapy for Rapid and Effective Change).
